While all states require civilian escorts once a load exceeds state defined dimensions, some states require escorts to become certified through a training course to promote safe operations. While states with escort certification requirements typically offer reciprocity with other states, the current distribution of states with certifications requires at least two certifications to be valid throughout the US; New York and Utah.
